Start: Noun or verb?

Well, for all of you who may be wondering if I fell off the face of the earth. No, I didn't. Gold start for creativity though. If this was hundreds of years ago and I was a sailor, well then I'd have to dock you since that was kind of a popular thought back then. Get it? Dock? But now that just about everyone in the world knows that we live on a spherical earth not one shaped like a paper plate after potluck... yeah, I'm going to have to give you some props for thinking I fell off the face of the earth.

Still trying to figure out the paper plate? Stop. Move on.

So, you may be wondering "what have you been up to," "have you made it big yet," and the increasingly popular (even with myself) "so what are you planning to do next?" I'll start with the first question. That seems to be a good one to start with if I understand Maria von Trap correctly. I arrived at my house in El Monte on election night. Lucky for me I was able to be busy moving in while everyone else watched the night's climatic events. It saved me from having to decide whether I should yell at the hell-a-vision "You can't mail America to Hell like that," or prance around the maypole of "Change" and cheer, "Yes, we can!" Did I get a rise out of anyone yet? Oh well, I tried.

Anyway, so the election happened that night, but really I didn't give two rips about it at the time. I already voted several days prior so I was so way over that. More than anything I was grateful to make it to my house alive. Earlier that I night I committed the Cardinal Sin of road trips. I locked my keys and my cell phone inside my U-Haul at a gas station in the shadiest part of LA I had ever been to. Luckily, there was also an airline pilot there who was willing to help me. He called the U-Haul roadside-assistance people and they had a locksmith over to where I was at within thirty minutes. And the great part of it all was that since the particular truck I was using was relatively new, it was still under a warranty with GM that provided free roadside assistance!

Ok, so then I moved into my new house, and got all set up. The only hard part was unloading my motorcycle from the truck. Those of you who have done that kind of thing before understand, and those of you who don't... well, you just don't. And I'm not going to waste time explaining. Anyway, my house is great, I have my own room facing east so I get woken up by the sun every morning. (I love that) There is a huge screen T.V. down stairs. I measure it, but I can't count that high. This is a shoes off kind of place. Generally I don't like that because I always leave my shoes at the wrong door, but I'm determined to figure out how people make this work. So far I just end up taking my shoes up to my room a lot. Oh yeah! We have a fire place too. Not that I can ever imagine us using it. We also have one of those robotic vacuums that cleans while you are away and apparently a cleaning lady comes over every other month. I don't know how we'll get the house messy enough in time but it's worth a shot, right?

My backyard is nice and green. It has two lemon trees in it, a guava tree, five rose bushes, an alo vera plant and some other tree. There is a nice partially covered patio with a basketball hoop that is mounted at a slant somewhere between 8 and 9 feet high.

Ah oh.... got to go.                 TO BE CONTINUED...
